for healthy futures
Every child deserves a childhood in which they are nurtured, protected, and given access to opportunity. But for too many children, poverty and inequality are holding them back.
The Healthy Futures Fund is helping to tackle these barriers — so that children can grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe.
When you pledge your support for the Healthy Futures Fund, you’ll be joining a special group of donors who want to accelerate their impact to transform children’s lives. Your donation will go to our priority projects in communities where the need and opportunity is greatest, and delivered in partnership with local organisations.
And because all donations to the fund are matched by government grants, your generous gift will be supercharged to make an even bigger collective impact – so even more children can thrive.

In Vietnam, the Healthy Future Fund is making it easier for children like 10-year-old Lan* to reach their full potential.
Lan’s family live in a remote village in the mountainous Cao Bang province, with the nearest school 12 kilometres away. The long distance and steep slopes make it too difficult for her to get to and from school every day – and when it rains, it is almost impossible. This means children like Lan must live apart from their parents during the week, and care for themselves from a very young age.
Since she was eight, Lan lived in a cramped bamboo and wood shack closer to school with her younger sister and cousin. As the eldest, the responsibility fell to Lan to care for them – waking up at 5am to prepare breakfast, clean, do laundry, and get the children ready for school. She would see her parents as little as once per week – when they brought food, prepared meals, and helped with household jobs. In the winter, the shack offered little protection from the cold and harsh weather.

But a new project supported by ChildFund Australia’s Healthy Future Fund is giving Lan and other children in her community new hope.
In September 2022, a new semi- boarding house for Quang Trong Primary & Secondary school opened its doors. The construction of the boarding house, kitchen, and cafeteria has enabled more than 60 boarding students – including Lan and her siblings – to live and study in a safer and healthier environment. And because volunteer parents take turns preparing hot meals and cleaning, children like Lan now have more time to focus on their education.
I am no longer afraid of ghosts!

Every child – regardless of where they are born – deserves to be healthy, educated, and safe. Projects such as the semi-boarding house open new doors of opportunity for children living in poverty, so they can have a brighter future. But it still needs your support, so that students have a safe place to live and learn.
You can make a lasting impact through projects like this when pledge your support for the Healthy Futures Fund today.
